The song is about giving yourself over to technology (in this case, nanomachines) to transcend, upgrade, make the world better and improve yourself despite humanity's fears of the loss of individuality, of technology changing your identity and innate fear of the unknown then self destruction when confronted with the annihilation of one or the other.
